Fans of the Alien franchise got a brief glimpse of the new Alien: Covenant set this week. Scheduled for release in August next year, Alien: Covenant will follow on from Prometheus (2012) which is set in the same universe. The film will see Michael Fassbender reprising his role as David, a synthetic robot found by explorers on a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy.
“We’ll have them all: egg, face-hugger, chest-burster, then the big boy. I think maybe we can go another round or two”
Ridley Scott is returning to direct the film after directing the original Alien (1979) and Promethus (2012). When speaking to The Wrap about the film, Ridley said “they’re going to go to the planet where the engineers came from, and come across the evolving creature that they had made … we’ll have them all: egg, face-hugger, chest-burster, then the big boy. I think maybe we can go another round or two”.
